Mia Bailey works in the mediums of video, film and photography, questioning the claim that recorded images can convey an objective reality external to the viewer. Her work deals with the unseen beneath the surface of the visual, the symbolic weighting of the image, and the illusory nature of what we claim to see.

Lives and works in Karlsruhe, Germany, Iowa City (USA), and Basel, Switzerland.
